How Miracle-Gro works

Miracle-Gro soils provide key nutrients that plants need in order to thrive. The various soil mixes have built-in fertilizers which are made up of ammonium, nitrogen, and minerals.

A rich base is provided by these ingredients for plant growth.

Why does Miracle-Gro potting soil work

The Miracle-Gro company made it their mission to ‘find a need and fill it’. They are continuously working to evolve their products to fit the needs of not only growers or gardeners, but plants too. This is why Miracle-Gro soil works.

Why Miracle-Gro is good

Miracle-Gro soils are formulated to provide the plants grown in them with the nutrients they require in order to grow healthy.

The soils have been blended to include fertilizer in them. This built-in fertilizer can be used for fruits, vegetables, and herbs because it is non-toxic and safe.

The Miracle-Gro company has not included any insecticides or other harmful substances in their soils.

Avoiding these additions has made their product safer and does not endanger the health of the plants, crops, or humans.

The soils are typically blended to include Miracle-Gro Moisture Control technology. This ensures your plants are protected from being both over-water or under-watered.

There are even organic mixes available for those who prefer to only work with and grow organically grown plants, fruits or vegetables.

Can Miracle-Gro go bad?

If not stored or kept correctly, Miracle-Gro can in fact go bad. Expiration dates should also be taken into consideration when purchasing any Miracle-Gro products.

Products that have passed their expiration date may be harmful to your plants.

It may seem strange that soil can go bad. However, if enough moisture or liquid gets inside a Miracle-Gro soil bag, it can deteriorate the coating on the slow-release fertilizers.

The soil itself does not go bad, but the fertilizer inside does expire and can dissipate into the atmosphere.

In a sealed bag, Miracle-Gro soil can last for up to five years, if not more. This is provided the bag has been stored correctly throughout this time.

This can not always be guaranteed as you do not know how warehouses or stores have stored the products prior to your purchasing them.

Can Miracle-Gro kill plants?

As Miracle-Gro has formulated soils specifically for a range of different plants, it is not likely that any of these soils will harm your plants.

Although, if a bag of Miracle-Gro soil has not been kept correctly, the fertilizer blended into the soil mixes can go bad. This can potentially be harmful to your plants.

Provided you use a potting or garden mix that is suited to the purpose and you follow the instructions for use, it is highly unlikely for your plants to be harmed by any Miracle-Gro soil mixes.
