Neon Pothos

Neon pothos is quite a popular type of neon houseplant, as previously mentioned. One thing that I think you should know about the neon pothos is its botanical name.

Like all plants, it has a proper botanical name. The botanical name for neon pothos is Epipremnum aurum ‘Neon’.

It is also worth noting that this houseplant is simply one variety of the pothos plant.

There are a number of different pothos varieties that I can find available on the market.

The foliage of the neon pothos is green and lemon yellow.

I will also add that the neon glow of the pothos’s young growth is often more prominent compared to other growth on the plant.

Moonlight Philodendron

The Moonlight Philodendron is another type of neon houseplant that I think you might like.

This one is still capable of improving the overall look of a house with its bright neon color.

The botanical name for the moonlight philodendron is simply Philodendron ‘Moonlight’.

The moonlight philodendron is actually a heartleaf philodendron hybrid, which I think is important to note.

Heartleaf Philodendron are fast growers according to the University of Illinois.

The moonlight philodendron comes with beautiful foliage. The color of the moonlight philodendron’s foliage is yellow-green chartreuse.

I would also like to mention the fact that you should not keep the moonlight philodendron in any sort of direct light. The moonlight philodendron thrives in bright indirect light.

That is how I can get the ideal color from the moonlight philodendron.

Golden Goddess Philodendron

The Golden Goddess Philodendron (Malay Gold or Lemon Lime Philodendron) is one of the more popular neon houseplants.

The botanical name for the golden goddess Philodendron is Philodendron ‘Golden Goddess’.

The golden goddess Philodendron has leaves that are both narrow and bright neon yellow in color.

I have found that the golden goddess Philodendron looks good in a variety of containers.

One container that works well for this plant is a ceramic pot. However, I would also recommend using a ceramic basket for the golden goddess Philodendron, too.

Comet

Not all of the best neon houseplants are Philodendrons, though.

I have found some succulent plants that are good neon houseplants, as well.

The botanical name for the Comet succulent plant is Crassula sarmentose ‘Comet’.

Unlike the philodendrons listed previously, the Comet plant is an ornamental succulent plant.

Another difference is that it has leaves that are dark green in color. If I keep the Comet plant in full sun, then these leaves will change color and will be nearly neon green in color.

I will also notice a yellow and pink hue mixed in with that color that is close to neon green. The borders of the leaves will be a deep red color.

I should also mention that you can keep the Comet plant in full sun without any worries.

Philodendron Neon

The Philodendron Neon plant has a variety of different names. I can also refer to it as the sweetheart vine.

Its correct botanical name is Philodendron cordatumNeon‘.

This plant has gotten this name due to its heart-shaped leaves.

Many people often confuse Philodendron Neon with the neon pothos plant, but they do have some clear differences.

One difference between the two plants is that Philodendron Neon features a long trailing habit. Its leaves are also heart-shaped, unlike the leaves of the neon pothos.

The leaves of the two plants do share a similar bright neon green color, though.

Limelight Coleus

Another great neon houseplant is the limelight Coleus or Solenostemon scuttelarriodes.

This plant features leaves that have a lime green color that is both bright and neon.

Additionally, I can put the limelight Coleus in either a garden or a container. Either way, this plant looks quite good.

I will add that the limelight Coleus gives you purple flowers, as well.

Neon Breakers

Neon Breakers is a succulent plant that will brighten a home with its color.

The botanical name for the Neon Breakers plant is Echeveria ‘Neon Breakers’.

With this succulent plant, I get a rosette of grey-green or blue-green leaves. These leaves have lavender or neon pink blushing when I grow them in direct sunlight.

Ceylon Golden Plant

The Ceylon Golden Plant (Philodendron Ceylon Gold or Philodendron Golden Emerald) is another good choice for a neon houseplant.

Its botanical name is Philodendron erubescens ‘Gold’.

I recommend this houseplant if you want a neon houseplant for a low-light environment.

The leaves of the Ceylon Golden Plant are bright neon green in color and are also paddle-shaped.

I can also notice a golden hue mixed in with the green color of the leaves.

Flamingo Flower

The botanical name for the Flamingo Flower is Anthurium andraeanum ‘Tickled Pink’. The leaves on the Flamingo Flower are a deep green color.

This means that they contrast well with their neon pink leaves. I would recommend keeping the Flamingo Flower out of direct light.

Instead, the Flamingo Flower tends to thrive in medium indirect light or even bright indirect light.

Pink Charming

The botanical name for the Pink Charming plant is Begonia rex ‘Pink Charming’.

The leaves of the Pink Charming plant are a neon pink color.

However, I can also notice a silver hue and some green tints on the leaves, as well.

This is a great choice if I want striking colors from my neon houseplant.
