Planting

When planting in the garden or balcony, several aspects are important. Some flowers, vegetables, and fruits prefer full sun, while others prefer shade. The direction in the garden influences how much light a plant gets.

The sun goes up in the east. Therefore plants planted on the east side of a garden receive plenty of direct morning sun. The morning sun is less strong than the afternoon sun. At the same time, the south facing-garden gets lots of bright direct light throughout the day. The least hours of direct sunlight can be found in the north of a garden.

Therefore it is important to know the preferences of flowers, vegetables, and fruits planted in the garden, balcony, or side of the house. Only then can the right planting direction be chosen.
